Smart Intersection Wins 1st Place in 2021 National University Smart Innovation and Cross-domain Integration Creative Competition

This project was created by HITech interns during their university studies as an entry to a national student creative competition.

Based on observations, most traffic accidents in Taiwan occur at intersections, with causes mainly being traffic violations such as illegal lane crossing, illegal left/right turns, and wrong-way driving.

Therefore, we created a smart intersection system that uses object recognition technology to detect the position and type of vehicles appearing in surveillance footage.
