# Made in Taiwan: Heimdall Builds Its AI Models, System Development, and Local Data In-House with a Young Taiwan Team

> HITech (Heimdall Intelligent Technology)'s core R&D team is composed entirely of Taiwanese members, and its AI model development, software system engineering, and the collection and annotation of Taiwan-local data are all done in-house. With a Made-in-Taiwan spirit of independent R&D, we build AI image-recognition technology fully owned by our Taiwan team; the team averages around 30 years old, young and highly capable, and our technology already supports license-plate recognition for Taiwan, Japan, the U.S., Europe, and Vietnam.

Since its founding in Taipei in 2021, HITech (Heimdall Intelligent Technology) has continuously invested in the independent development of AI image-recognition technologies, including license-plate recognition, vehicle-type recognition, and human behavior analysis. We believe that truly competitive AI comes not from the model alone, but from fully mastering model development, system engineering, and data building.

Heimdall's core R&D team is composed entirely of Taiwanese members, and our AI model development, software system engineering, and the collection and annotation of Taiwan-local data are all carried out by the team itself. From algorithm design and model training to the back-end platform and on-site deployment, we build complete AI image-recognition solutions the Made-in-Taiwan way.

Beyond our independent R&D capability, the team itself is a defining feature of Heimdall. Our core R&D, engineering, and product teams are all made up of Taiwanese members, with an average age of around 30 — a young engineering team with strong execution. The team continues to invest in AI, computer vision, and cloud system development, responding quickly to customer needs while continuously refining our recognition models and product features.

For Heimdall, "Made in Taiwan" is more than a product label — it means the entire AI development process is completed independently by our Taiwan team, including:

(1) Team composition: Our core R&D, engineering, and product teams are made up of Taiwanese members, with an average age of around 30 and a development culture built on youth, rapid iteration, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

(2) In-house AI model development: The AI models behind license-plate recognition, vehicle-type recognition, and human and behavior analysis are all designed, trained, and continuously refined by the team, drawing on extensive real-world field experience rather than adopting off-the-shelf models.

(3) In-house software system development: From image preprocessing, the inference engine, and device management to the back-end platform, the entire software stack is designed, developed, and maintained by the team, ensuring the system can be quickly adapted and continuously evolved to meet the needs of different sites.

(4) Data collection and training: Our AI model training is grounded in a large volume of local data that the team collects and annotates in Taiwan — covering real-world settings such as parking lots, road intersections, and community entrances — keeping the models close to real-world usage conditions in Taiwan.

Heimdall currently supports license-plate recognition for Taiwan, Japan, the U.S., Europe, and Vietnam. While our recognition capability has extended to different countries, the core AI model architecture, training pipeline, and software systems remain independently developed by our Taiwan team; for each country's plate formats and traffic environments, the team collects local imagery as needed to fine-tune and validate the models so recognition better fits local usage. We also continue to expand our global plate database and AI model capabilities to help parking management, residential access control, smart traffic, and other AI vision applications adopt the technology quickly.

From AI models and software systems to data building, Heimdall remains committed to independent R&D by a Taiwan team. We believe that only by fully mastering the technology can we continuously improve our products, respond quickly to customer needs, and reliably apply AI image recognition across diverse settings — and we will continue to build AI solutions that combine local understanding with international competitiveness, in the Made-in-Taiwan spirit of independent R&D.
